“Older than dirt.”

Been here since before the ground was.

“Older than Methuselah's goat.”

Outlived the oldest man in the Bible's own livestock.

“Old as the hills and twice as dusty.”

Ancient, and showing it.

“There's snow on the roof, but fire in the furnace.”

Gray-haired, sure, but far from done.

“Too old to cut the mustard.”

Past the age of keeping up.

“My get up and go done got up and went.”

Admittin' the energy of youth has long since left town.
